Simona Lysakova is a medical student at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. She developed an early interest in the psychosocial dimensions of health through her work as an undergraduate research assistant in the Coping and Health in Context Lab at Hunter College, where she contributed to studies examining biopsychosocial outcomes in individuals with chronic disease. At UNECOM, she has been awarded the Academy of Gerontology Program of Merit designation, reflecting over 45 hours of dedicated clinical training in geriatric competencies and further strengthening her commitment to geriatrics and quality of life. Her interests center on improving quality of life for older adults, and she aspires to a career grounded in interdisciplinary, compassionate, and patient-centered care.
